COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION

Clear and Comprehensive Approach

Karen takes the time to understand the full picture — developmental history, medical background, school or work context, and family story — before arriving at a diagnosis and plan.

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is the foundation of effective treatment. Karen takes the time to understand the full picture - present symptoms and mental health history, developmental history, medical background, school or work context, impact on daily life, and family story - before arriving at a diagnosis and plan.

A child with an untreated learning disability grows into an adult who often believes they are not intelligent or capable of achieving dreams or finding success.

A depressed or anxious teenager isolates from friends at a period of their life when peer relations are the most important.

An adult with an untreated mood disorder or undiagnosed ADHD struggles with day to day functioning and adult responsibilities and can’t understand why their relationships and jobs are falling apart.

A person of any age who has experienced any degree of physical, emotional or sexual trauma that was never treated retreats into a shamed silent world, hiding their secrets, fighting a daily internal struggle, and never understanding how the catapulting force of these events shaped their life.

You leave with understanding — a diagnosis explained, and a treatment path that makes sense.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Thoughtful prescribing

Medication can be a powerful tool, but it is never the whole answer. Karen provides careful, ongoing medication management as one component of a holistic treatment plan, with close monitoring, honest conversation about benefits and side effects, and coordination with your therapist and other members of your health and education team.

Careful monitoring and honest conversation through patient education.

Regular follow-ups to track progress, side effects, and dosing.

Coordination with therapists, specialists, and all members of your health and educational team.
